Glittering Bridal Fashion Show
By Shamoni Mulay
The weather forecasted sever storm this Sunday 19th 2013 and the
pouring rain confirmed it since morning. But nor the rain nor
the storm could dampen the spirit and enthusiasm of the Atlanta
Event & Music Entertainment team as they put up a smart and
glittering bridal fashion show. Organized by Mr. Ramzan Virani,
Mr. Ashok Goyal, Ramona's Party Décor and DJ Rahim the team
faced all the natural adversities and yet put up an impressive
show that the Atlanta Event Hall which regularly hosts several
successful events annually.
We experience just like all other guests who attended the show
that when one walked in from the rain into the Atlanta Event
Hall they were transformed into a dazzling and romantic world
put together by Ramona’s Party Décor who did a great job to
change a regular event hall into bridal zone completed with a
glitzy run way and well balanced staging area. The warm smiles
the guests were greeted with from the team sure added a brighter
sparkle!
The show was choreographed by the multi-talented DJ Rahim who
also provided some splendid runway music and also kept the
guests tapping toes before and after the show. Mr. Ashok Goyal
was the Master the Ceremony opened the show by thanking the
sponsors, media partners, models, audience and all those who
made the event possible.
The dresses were put together by Shama’s Collection. They
focused on a mix of traditional and modern which was seen in the
colour choices made which ranged from traditional pink,
magentas, yellow and wine to pastels like turquoise and browns.
The runway saw some traditional and modern salwar kameez,
churidars and shararas and the audience quite enjoyed the fabric
mix created for the dresses and their layering. Some dresses
stood out with bold animal print fabrics seen mixed with some
traditional dresses and a mix of brocade and lace. The dresses
also exhibited embroidery and sequence along the neck and were
teamed with some dazzling chandelier earrings.

The models adorned some beautiful henna designs by Manisha who
also pleased the guests by involving them and adding some
attractive henna designs on their hands as well.
The makeup was pleasingly fresh and kept neutral to compliment
the clothing by Nashwa and her team making the ladies glow as
they would on a wedding day. When asked about the current
trends, Nashwa gave us a quick idea about the current trend and
shared some quick tips for all the brides to be. The recent
trend is to keep the makeup neutral and fresh especially for
summer. Matching your makeup to you dress is a certain no no, it
is rather time to stick to the subtle with bronze or gold. Eye
makeup takes the attention these days and can add great glamour
and drama when done well keeping the rest of it simple. Partial
smoky eyes, adding lashes and a tinge of the wedding theme
colour seem to be the way to go this year. With a simple neutral
face makeup red lips also create a sizzling look this year and
dark pop of colour on the lip is in. The same goes for nails as
well with red and orange being the colours of the season. As for
the hair, complicated up dos’ is not much of vogue. It’s time to
curl or scrunch the hair for a simple yet stylish. For all those
who missed some colour change though highlight it’s time to take
an appointment with the hairdresser again because they are back
in too! Nashwa was kind enough to share some tips for our brides
to be. As for beauty treatments she recommends that a haircut
must be done at least a month before and face clean up at least
one to two weeks before and then for two weeks before the
wedding don't touch your face or hair. This allows the hair to
fall into its own shape and the face recovers from any breakouts
that may be a result of the face treatment. She also recommends
drinking loads of water, moisturizing regularly and getting all
the beauty sleep. Most of all the brides to be need to relax
before the wedding and enjoy their days and be happy, this
brings a natural glow to them.

The runway saw some good models like Nadia Hussain and Jyothi
Bharti. Model Amrita Chawla had come down for the show all the
way from LA and took the runway by fire in her turquoise
churidar and then again in a blue saree.
The runway was also graced by another beautiful lady. Shaveta
Jain, Mrs India International 2012 was the guest of honour for
the show and she was sure gracious to walk the runway herself
along with the models. When asked about the changing bridal
fashion trend, Shaveta mentioned that it is all about being
fresh and modern while holding strong to the traditional roots.
She said that although the bridal garments have changed shapes
and material to become more modern or adapt to a western taste,
the base of most garments stay traditional and being traditional
will always stay in trend.
The event was covered extensively by Hakim Studio and Shehenai
Art Studio who took care of the photography and video footage of
the event.
As Mr Virani finally said that it is the support of the family
and I'm sure he meant that of Atlanta Events and Music
Entertainment team and that of his fellow Atlantians that make
such events possible. Looking at the immense energy and
enthusiasm that they showed at the event I was sure that no rain
could ever dampen their spirit.
