Walk
in
support of
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
In keeping with its theme," Building a Better Community, One
Step at a Time,” the BAPS Charities annual walkathon was held on
Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Lilburn, GA. Over 650 members of the
community participated in this year’s walkathon.
Coming together to walk for asingular purpose, participants of
all ages joined hands and raised funds to support this year’s
local beneficiary, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA).
“I have walked for a number of years and it is again an honor to
walk for such a noble cause," said Anand Mehta,Vice President of
BAPS Charities. “BAPS Charities is honored to organize such an
event. Walkathons like this one bring the community together and
help to serve great causes. The enthusiasm behind this event is
really the driving force to ensuring the success of today’s
event.”


Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is a local organization that
aims to enhance the lives of children through excellence in
patient care, research and education. With three hospitals and
a number of local community clinics, it serves the children of
Georgia with state of the art care.
A true 5K, the walk was held in Lilburn and inspired people to
not only take the extra step in improving their community, but
also advocate a healthier lifestyle.
Also in attendance at this year’s BAPS Charities Walkathon was
Mike Berlon, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Georgia. Mr.
Berlon’s presence showed his appreciation for the efforts of the
participants.
With many centers participating in similar walks across North
America, this is just one of many initiatives that BAPS
Charities takes to support local communities. Throughout the
year, BAPS Charities hosts medical fairs, education and career
development seminars, blood drives and much more. BAPS Charities
