NetIP Atlanta Book Club
Come
share food, ideas and make friends while discussing a
fascinating read!
About the
Book Club
NeIP
Atlanta has launched a book club for everyone. The idea is to
share, learn and discuss books that reflect our life as a
professional.
The second book club meeting will be on Sept 10th at 7.30 pm at
Borders in Buckhead.
To Join the Book Club
The
bookclub members vary each month based on current and any new
members who have made a good faith effort to read that book of
the month. Please come to the meeting(s) if you have made an
effort to read the book in order to participate in the
discussion. We promise to keep it light and fun.
Sept Book
The book for the
2nd meeting is Interpreter of Maladies which is a
2000 collection of nine short stories by Indian American author
Jhumpa Lahiri. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the
Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award. It was also chosen as The New
Yorker's Best Debut of the Year.
The stories are about the lives of Indians and Indian Americans
who are caught between the culture they have inherited and the
"New World" they now find themselves in.. It is available at
your local Borders store. We will decide on the next book at the
meeting.
