Join GFUSA at the Sweet Auburn Springfest 2006!



Atlanta, Georgia May 3, 2006 - The Gandhi Foundation of USA will participate in the Sweet Auburn Springfest in Atlanta from May 12th through 14th. This year, GFUSA Executive Director Giriraj Rao is an Honorary Chairman of the annual cultural festival. We will have a booth throughout the three-day weekend event where you can get information about our events and our organization. GFUSA T-Shirts and books authored by members and associates of the GFUSA will be available for a donation. On Sunday, May 14, the GFUSA Cultural Program will be presented on the Global Stage at 3pm. Fusion dance performances will celebrate a blending of American and Indian culture. The GFUSA will also participate at the Awards & Recognition Luncheon on Wednesday, May 17 at the Butler Street YMCA at 12 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive in Atlanta.

The Gandhi Foundation of USA is a 501(c) non-profit organization that promotes the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi and also Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who looked to Gandhi as a role model in non-violence, community service and social justice. The foundation was born in Atlanta from efforts to honor Gandhi, resulting in the dedication the statue of Gandhi at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site in 1998, is working towards making the Historic District its physical home with the establishment of the Gandhi Center USA. Your attendance and support at the Sweet Auburn Festival will greatly enhance our hopes of building bridges in our diverse community in this 21st century.

Public Parking will be available on Edgewood Avenue and surrounding areas of Auburn Avenue near the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site.
