35th Anniversary Celebrations.
Nrupathunga Kannada Koota of Atlanta, Georgia is stepping into
its 35th year of commencement. The celebrations of this
momentous occasion will be held on
20th September 2008, Saturday
from 9am to 9 pm, at Southern Polytechnic state University,
Marietta, Georgia.
For its 35th anniversary event, NKK, a tax-exempt cultural
association and epicenter of Kannada community in Atlanta, in
its attempt to promote the language, culture, arts and its
heritage has organized various Group songs, dances, classical
music and dramas with nearly 80 children and large number of
families in active participation. Artists from Karnataka are
also invited to the program. Nearly 500 people are expected to
attend the event. Along with entertainment, NKK has also
arranged for Lunch and Dinner.
The souvenir "Chiguru" which will be released as part of the
festivities will surely entertain you with stories from local
writers and eminent authors from Karnataka.
NKK has its own library, website (www.atlantakannada.org) and
also conducts classes to teach Kannada language. It has
established a scholarship fund donated by Drs. Subrahmanya and
Annapurna Bhat. A sum of $4000 was awarded, last year, to a
graduating high school senior. This amount will be presented
every year during the Rajyothsava day, in November. NKK does
many charitable donations also both in USA and in Karnataka
State, India.
NKK cordially invites all interested to register, participate,
