Ekal Vidyalaya is a project addressing the need of primary education in the tribal/ Rural villages of India. The mission of Ekal movement is to set up one-teacher schools in these tribal villages. You can sponsor a school by donating $ 365 per year and join the Ekal Movement to help transform tribal and remote villages. As of Dec. 2007, there are 24,006 such schools in operation with 720,182 children enrolled and the Goal is to have 100,000 schools by 2011.
