India's 73rd Independence Day Celebrations

Unfurled Indian Flag at
Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) celebrated India's 73rd Independence
Day on August 15th 2019. This patriotic event was organized at TAMA office in
Alpharetta. Whole Atlanta community is fortunate to have a Retired Army Major
General Dr. R Siva Kumar as the chief guest. Even though it is a working day,
more than 100 elders and kids participated in the patriotic event.

TAMA President Mr. Venky Gadde extended a warm welcome to all the attendees and
kick started the event. TAMA Community Services Secretary Bharath Avirneni
invited Dr. R Siva Kumar with a flower bouquet. The cheif guest hoisted the
tri-color flag in front of TAMA office. Everyone rendition the national anthem
with freedom fervor and saluted the flag. Ladies sang few patriotic songs.

Mr. Siva Kumar spoke about freedom fighters and how we got independence. He also
explained how the military operates, asked kids to visit their native villages
and spend some quality time. He also requested youngsters to work for military,
whether it is in US or India. He is very impressed with TAMA Free Clinic, Telugu
Manabadi and requested everyone to utilize such great services.

TAMA Board Chairman Mr. Vinay Maddineni spoke about various programs conducted
by TAMA. Manabadi regional cordinator Mr. Vijay Ravella explained the importance
of learning Telugu and Manabadi services. TAMA President Mr. Venky Gadde
conveyed heartfelt thanks to Dr. Siva Kumar for gracing the event and everyone
who attended and made the event a grandeur. Snacks and tea were served. Everyone
tooks photographs with Dr. Siva Kumar. Kids enjoyed the candies. Many people
lauded TAMA for conducting Indian national festivals every year.
