Atlanta Hindus, who are supporting Karen Handel, the Republican candidate in the 6th District of Georgia, will be holding a dinner reception for the former Secretary of State at the Ashiana Banquet Hall in Global Mall, located on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross on May 19, 2017. The event is from 7 to 8.30 p.m.

Hindus who are supporting Karen Handel see in her a leader who has significant experience and a rare ability to solve problems.

The 6th District consists of many of the northern suburbs of Atlanta, including portions of East Cobb, North Fulton and North Dekalb. It includes all or portions of several cities including Roswell, Johns Creek, Tucker, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody. The winner of this election will impact the Hindu community.

Since the District is home to more than 30,000 Hindus, there is a heightened sense of anxiety due to recent hate crimes targeted against Hindus. The hope is that Karen Handel would address the concerns of the community. It is also clear from the growing support for Karen Handel that the Democratic Party’s policy of appeasing radical Islamist forces has not gone well with the community. Some of the issues of interest to the Hindu American community include the following:

a) Protection from potential hate crimes,
b) Protection of business interests in medicine, hospitality, technology, retail, real estate, etc.,
c) Promotion of US India relations,
d) Implementation of strong counter terrorism measures and alignment with India in defeating Jihadi terrorism and
e) Support for India’s demand to be a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

The attendees will be treated with delicious Indian vegetarian food and an opportunity to hear directly from the candidate, Karen Handel.

Interested Hindus from the Metro Atlanta region are requested to contact the organizers for reservation.
